Among all subjects, mathematics is considered the most difficult subject to be taught, as many teachers would use "calculation formula" or traditional teaching methods. However, mathematics at St. Lorraine is so much more, as we pride ourselves on teaching mathematics in creative and non-traditional ways.

Our mathematics programme is so much more than simply teaching 1 + 1 = 2. Our kindergarten uses different methods to encourage children to think and solve problems by helping them discover the connections of the problems and by helping them express and explore the concepts, procedures, and various aspects of mathematics.

Context-based Mathematics Teaching

We will often use stories and literature as a backdrop when illustrating a concept, posing a problem, and stimulating a conversation. In short, by connecting mathematics to children's books and emotions, we are able to help children connect mathematical ideas to their own lives.

You don’t need to be a mathematician to have a feel for numbers.
